12 year old swims St. Lucia to Martinique in support of mom’s breast cancer

A twelve year old from Martinique has created history by swimming from St. Lucia to Martinique.

His swim began on Saturday outside the Cariblue beach at 5:11 AM and arrived in Saint Anne, Martinique shortly after 7 PM. While he reached mid channel in about 6 hours, the last 8 hours of his swim proved a challenge. He continued to push ahead despite fatigue.

The historic swim is intended to draw attention to his mom and her fight against Breast Cancer.

Christophe has been completing distance swimming events over the past few years in recognition of his mother, in remission from Breast Cancer.

Christophe is celebrating his birthday today.
