1st major challenge for GET IN THE RING 2020 qualifiers October 20

On Tuesday 13th October 2020 and Wednesday 14th October 2020, applicants for the Get In The Ring St. Lucia 2020 Competition participated in a two day packed pitch training, networking and one-on-one coaching sessions with corporate officials, knowledgeable professionals and successful entrepreneurs.

Tuesday’s activity was fashioned in the form of a speed networking event where startups were able to engage personnel from a wide range of areas including Commerce and Industry – Business Registration, Marketing and Public Relations, Conflict Management and Resolution, Finance, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Banking, Human Resource Management, Standards and Insurance.

Day two brought even more value as the startups gained exposure to the act of pitching their business concept. Ms. Justine Charles, Ms. Kezia Preville, 2018 and 2019 winners Mr. Patrick Eze and Mr. Gilland Avril, along with 2019 finalist Mr. Martin Hanna, provided support on Wednesday 14th October 2020.

The day’s proceedings culminated with all participants delivering before three of the mentors in a competition fashioned simulation where they again received feedback.

All startups will advance to the preliminary round of the competition on Tuesday 20th October 2020 at the Union Orchid Garden. Participants will pitch before a panel of five adjudicators who will select the top six most innovative startups to move onto the Grand Battle on October 27th 2020.
