Author and educator growing buddy culture in St. Lucia

Author Loverly Sheridan is the recent recipient of the prestigious Palm Beach Illustrated Educator of the year award. 

Her efforts as an educator and advocate are reaping rewards, and she has pledged to honour her island home on its 41st Independence Anniversary. Ms. Sheridan announced her intention to complete the installation of forty-one (41) Buddy Benches by the end of the year 2020. 

Sheridan has just launched a new round of her Buddy Ambassadors Campaign in Saint Lucia last week. On Thursday February 20 at 1:00 p.m. was the turn of the the Belle Vue Combined School to receive a Buddy Bench.

The Des Barras Combined and Babonneau Secondary schools have also joined the Buddy Ambassadors movement. 

On Monday February 24, students will receive their Buddy Benches and become Buddy Ambassadors at the Morne Du Don Primary at 9:00 a.m. and the Millet Combined School at 1:00 p.m. Ms. Sheridan will conclude this leg of the campaign on Wednesday February 26, 2020. 

She will return later in the year to meet her goal of forty-one (41) benches for Saint Lucia’s 41st Independence Anniversary.
