Caribbean Business Report for 5th August 2019

This week’s Caribbean Business Report

Good day, thanks for your interest in the Business Report. Its the Pan Am Games – and St. Lucia is represented in a number of disciplines. Of course our Most Decorated Athlete Levern Spencer is defending her high jump title. St. Lucia is involved in sailing, javelin, high jump and some other events. Our Under-15 Footballers are in Miami – so let’s wish them the best as well.
A reminder that nominations are open for the St. Lucia Business Awards, with an orientation exercise this week on the 8th of August. Nomination deadline is August 30th. The first step to eliminating Styrofoam and single use plastics has begun. It is now illegal to import Styrofoam – saw some styrofoam in waterways in Soufriere and Anse-la-Raye over the past few days…so let’s hope by this time next year – that will be a thing of the past. Details in today’s CBR.
