Good day and many thanks for your interest in the Caribbean Business Report

CBR_issue_522

Ladies will be in commendation row today – as we congratulate Vernetta Lesporis for successfully staging the ELITE TRACK CLUB INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019 yesterday at the Mindoo Phillip Park. This was the 6th edition.
Also congratulations to the head of the Community Relations Branch at the Vieux-Fort Police station for her leadership role in dealing with crime reduction. Silvina James’ story can be found here– in a feature produced by Calabash TV to highlight her outstanding efforts. We need your support in highlighting these outstanding St. Lucians, so feel free to join our campaign.
Sasha Harris [E4] just recently held a successful women’s conference focusing on empowerment and we have word that a lady is heading ECCO – for the first time. Vernaldine Francis is the new chair of the Eastern Caribbean Collective Organisation. She is from St. Kitts.
And of course we have the qualifiers for the 2019 Carnival Queen Pageant – you will be hearing a lot more from these ladies over the next few weeks. The common thread in all of the above – they are all [exception – Vernetta] featured in today’s Caribbean Business Report. We must mention to our first story features a company headed by Margaret Monplaisir, and the new team member joining the Taiwan Technical Mission here, looking at markets for fruits and vegetables, [our food security] is a woman. Welcome Ai-Lin Chen.
All of the above was a last minute observation. No collusion or coordination.
