Caribbean Business Report for 9th September 2019

Good day and many thanks for your interest in the Caribbean Business Report. Read the report here.

It is a painful week for residents of the Bahamas especially those areas hit hardest by Hurricane Dorian. There are ongoing efforts to assist, do whatever you can. We know the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association has one such regional initiative. OECS governments have pooled together along with CCRIF and other regional agencies to assist.
Of course no one can fully prepare for a hurricane but there are lessons in preparation, building codes, preventative measures and understanding that more intense hurricanes are our new climate change reality.
We are still in the hurricane season – so take no chances. Dorian went through St. Lucia and impacted Canada!!
British Airways pilots are on strike Monday and Tuesday – most flights have been cancelled.
In the meantime here are this week’s headlines.
