Seven (7) students beginning their tertiary education this month are receiving financial support from the St Lucia Civil Service Co-operative Credit Union to attend the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
Four students who sat an average of 8 subjects at the 2019 CXC examinations with the top applicant earning 7 Grade 1 passes and 1 Grade two will be awarded the prized full scholarships covering their 2 years at the island’s tertiary institution which includes transportation and examination allowances.
In addition, 3 education grants or bursaries to cover costs for only the 2019-2020 academic year will be awarded to three (3) prospective SALCC students.
With the addition of these seven (7) recipients for 2019, the St Lucia Civil Service Co-operative Credit Union is now supporting fourteen (14) students through their tertiary education at the SALCC. Annually the organization spends almost $140, 000 on its Scholarship and Bursary Programme in a tangible demonstration of its commitment to education and youth development.
The 2019 recipients are Kay-Dee Delpesche, Tassell Eugene, Kharyce Moonie, Javhaan St. Rose, Eva Charles, Pertrice St. Pierre and Steje Alexander.
