ECCB Governor meets St. Lucia media and delivers lecture this week

The Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Timothy Antoine visits St. Lucia this week and during his stay will address the local media and deliver the 2020 Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture.

The ECCB Governor will meet the media on Wednesday January 22nd as part of the Bank’s Country Outreach. Governor Antoine will share information on the performance and prospects of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and field questions from the media.

The ECCB Governor will deliver the Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial lecture on Thursday January 23rd, the actual birthdate of the island’s Nobel Laureates –Sir Arthur Lewis and Sir Derek Walcott.

Mr. Antoine’s presentation will be entitled: “Socio-Economic Transformation by Invitation and Innovation”.

Mr. Timothy N. J. Antoine is a Grenadian economist and development practitioner who spent 14 of his 22 years with the Government of Grenada’s Ministry of Finance as Permanent Secretary.

He has also served as Advisor in the Office of the Executive Director for Canada, Ireland and the Caribbean of the World Bank Group and was based in Washington DC.
