Scores of shareholders turned out at the Finance Administrative Centre for an information seminar aptly themed Our Bank is Strong – “Bank Nou Fò” in keeping with Creole Heritage Month celebrations.
The objective of this inaugural seminar for minority shareholders, which is the first in a series of shareholder engagement events, was explained by the Chairman of Governance Committee Trevor Louisy.
Highlights of the seminar included key presentations on the continued success and profitability of ECFH driven by Banking subsidiary Bank of Saint Lucia. Chief Financial Officer, Ketha Auguste, presented the half year financials for the Bank and indicated that the Bank was well on its way to another successive year of profit.
The guest speaker from the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange, Tarlie Francis, addressed the importance of keeping registry records updated.
Deputy Managing Director for Lending and Investments, Medford Francis addressed
opportunities and challenges facing the banking sector and the BOSL Investment Banking Team highlighted a range of investment opportunities and investor education in keeping with Financial Information Month as designated by the Eastern
Caribbean Central Bank.
A critical part of the seminar was the highly participatory open forum, where discussions were held on any matter of interest to shareholders.
