A sod turning ceremony was held to formally announce the commencement of the construction of the I.A.M. Jet Centre, Saint Lucia. I.A.M. Jet Centre is an aviation company based in Barbados that specializes in providing custom tailored five-star services for private and corporate jets in addition to select premium airline passengers.
Heads of Government, Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority officials and business leaders all converged on the Hewanorra International Airport last week for a special sod turning ceremony.
I A M Jet Centre held the ceremony to officially announce the implementation of the Fixed Based Operation that will provide five star services to corporate jet clientele.
The I.A.M. Jet Centre is celebrating 30 years of service and currently operates facilities in Barbados, Montego Bay, Grenada and Tortola in addition to a dedicated network in 24 airports across the Caribbean.
The steady increase in private jet and premium class clients traveling to and through Saint Lucia made this aspect of the airport expansion a priority for the development of the new airport.
I A M Jet Centre will be the foreign investor, facilitate the design, supervise the construct of the facility and establish the five-star services. However, they will train and employ Saint Lucians for all management and staff positions. The construction will also be all done by local contractors. The facility is scheduled to be completed in early December 2019.
