The Government of St. Lucia in partnership with Northwest Ltd, the local agent for KIA has gifted St. Lucia’s most accomplished athlete with a 2019 Kia Sportage.
The vehicle was presented to Olympian high jumper, Commonwealth and Panam Gold Medalist Levern Spencer at the Mindoo Phillip Park where she commenced her training over twenty years ago.
The presentation was made in recognition of Levern’s longstanding service to sports, having represented St. Lucia internationally for two decades.
Sports Minister Edmund Estaphane and Director of Northwest Ltd Larry Bain participated in the handing over ceremony.
Levern Spencer recently spent some time in St Lucia, relaxing, and now prepares to begin the 2020 athletics season which will highlighted by the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
During her stay here Levern was named a Goodwill Ambassador by the ST. Lucia Hotels and Tourism Association. She’s also been made a Sports Ambassador by the Government of St. Lucia.
Levern took a break during her vacation at Bay Gardens Beach Resort to speak to Calabash TV about her preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Interview can be viewed here.
