More students accessing virtual classrooms with CIBC FIRSTCARIBBEAN’s support

Twenty-five students from eight schools who were previously unable to access their classroom instructions because they did not have access to a computer can now do so.

A mix of both primary and secondary school children are benefitting from the donation of desktop devices from CIBC FirstCaribbean.

They attend the Monchy, Camille Henry, Anglican, Grande Rivierre and Ave Maria Primary Schools, and Leon Hess and Castries Comprehensive Secondary Schools and St. Mary’s College.

The bank also supported the St. Lucia National Meals Programme, which set out to feed some 5000 Saint Lucians over a period of six weeks.

The meals were for citizens in vulnerable situations during periods of partial and total lockdown of the country, primarily the elderly, sick and shut-in and the homeless.

At an average cost of EC$8.00 per meal, the bank’s contribution of EC$2000.00 guaranteed meals for 250 recipients.

The donation of computers and meals fall under the bank’s country level programme in support of the national response to help mitigate the socio-economic impact of the COVID 19 Pandemic. It is funded under the recent allocation of USD$250,000 by the bank’s charitable arm, FirstCaribbean International ComTrust Foundation, to support the regional COVID 19 response.
