PCD made local partners for Menstrual Hygiene Day

For the first time ever St. Lucia joined in the global commemoration of Menstrual Hygiene Day.

It is an observance that has been going on for the past seven years, and this year Peter and Company Distribution in St. Lucia was chosen to drive awareness activities associated with this initiative.

PCD, distributors of Kotex and Feelings Menstrual Products was appointed as the local partner of WASH United to sponsor and stage the inaugural commemoration of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2020 (MH Day) in St. Lucia.

To kick off St. Lucia’s first ever MH Day, PCD presented care packages to First Responders at Victoria Hospital in honour of their steadfast and selfless service to the people of St. Lucia.

Michele Kalloo, CEO of PCD stated, “Periods don’t stop for Pandemics which we know would be particularly challenging for First Responders, so on St. Lucia’s first inaugural Menstrual Hygiene Day, we wanted to demonstrate our deep gratitude for all that they do.”

Continuing to spread “period positivity” PCD also presented care packages to the staff of the Division of Human Services for their dedicated service not just during COVID-19 but overall.

A key pillar of MH Day 2020, is the launch of the Menstruation Bracelet as a simple yet powerful global symbol for menstruation and MH Day.

Team PCD, led by Ms. Kalloo, added their collective talents to the mix, collaborating across departments to create and exchange their own unique bracelets in support of MH DAY.
