Penny Pinch registers its 4000th customers

Penny Pinch, an award-winning financial technology company has just celebrated its 4000th customer.

The company was started by 21-year-old St. Lucian technology entrepreneur.

Born in St. Lucia, Martin attended the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College when the idea of a mobile application was born. Originally envisioned to be only a discount app, the vision evolved into a more dynamic platform and became a reality when he met businessman and now co-founder of Penny Pinch, Mr. Jodi Boodhoo on the pitch competition, ‘Get In The Ring’ in 2018.

Mr. Boodhoo was a judge of the competition at the time. Although Martin did not win the competition, Mr. Boodhoo encouraged him to continue pursuing his dream and offered coaching and mentorship to assist with the development of Penny Pinch.

Immediately after participating and proudly placing second on ‘Get In The Ring’ with his impressive fintech enterprise, Martin was honored that same year by the Ministry of Youth Development & Sports as the Most Outstanding Youth In Innovation & Technology.

He then journeyed to Saudi Arabia in 2019 and proudly represented St. Lucia at the Entrepreneurship World Cup where amongst a whopping 100,000 hopeful and brilliant applicants, he was placed in the top 100.

Martin also won the TEN Habitat Caribbean Startup Summit’s pitch competition held in Barbados in May 2019.
