Peter and Company Distribution takes lead on Menstrual Hygiene Day

Peter and Company Distribution (PCD), distributor of Kotex and Feelings Menstrual Products has been appointed as the local partner of WASH United to sponsor and stage the inaugural commemoration of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2020 (MH Day) in St. Lucia.

Started in 2013, it is commemorated on May 28 annually with a themed, global awareness campaign. This year’s theme is It’s Time for Action!

Globally, poor menstrual hygiene caused by a lack of education on the issue, persisting taboos and stigma, limited access to hygienic menstrual products and poor sanitation infrastructure undermines the educational opportunities, health and overall social status of girls and women around the world. As a result, millions of girls and women are kept from reaching their full potential.

To kick off St. Lucia’s first ever MH Day, PCD presented care packages to First Responders at Victoria Hospital in honour of their steadfast and selfless service to the people of St. Lucia.

The next stop was the Division of Human Services, where PCD continued to spread “period positivity” by presenting care packages to the staff.

As the distributor of Kotex and Feelings Menstrual Products, PCD aims to work towards achieving menstruation equity in St. Lucia.
