Rotary gets its youngest guest speaker

The Rotary Club of Gros Islet hosted its youngest guest speaker in its history on Tuesday, 15th September 2020, via zoom.

Mr. Ethan Carlton Glasgow, age 13, a Form 2 student at St. Mary’s College made a presentation to the club on ‘Bullying sucks’. He also commented on the sudden transition from face to face schooling to online learning and the hybrid teaching methods being employed at his school from the time the island reported its first case of the coronavirus on 13th March 2020.

Ethan explained that it was scary at first and unsettling but very soon students (parents and teachers) got used to online learning and doing assignments on their own. Ethan felt it made students become more independent and responsible for their learning.

Ethan is a member of the InterAct Club of the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia and the grandson of Carlton Glasgow former Managing Director of 1st National Bank.
