Rural women in the Americas to share COVID-19 experiences

Rural women involved in food production and marketing in the Americas will come together through a series of virtual forums entitled “Rural Women and Equity During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

The participants will discuss the challenges and needs they are facing as a result of the current pandemic.

Organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the forums seek to shed light on the ways in which rural women are dealing with the effects of Covid-19 and the implications of the current health crisis.

The Institute will organize a total of four regional forums and one hemispheric forum, on May 13, 14 and 19.

Each of the five forums will have a duration of 90 minutes and will be carried out as follows (all times are local Costa Rica time):

  • Caribbean Region, the United States, Canada and Belize: 13 May, 8:30 a.m.
  • Southern Region: 13 May, 11 a.m.
  • Andean Region: 13 May, 1 p.m.
  • Mesoamerican Region: 14 May, 8:30 a.m.
