Schools re-open Monday April 20th – “virtually”

Education Minister Dr. Gale Rigobert says third term starts today, but you won’t see the customary morning traffic jam.

That is because for the third term, students will continue their education from home. The 3rd Term will focus on Digital Instruction and Learning which includes lessons being delivered via the internet, radio and television.

The transition to Digital Education will continue with the support of several agencies and partners, to accommodate students and teachers who lack connectivity.

The Minister has also announced that in the 3rd Term, no new concepts will be introduced. The term will be spent consolidating topics which were introduced during the 1st and 2nd terms.

Over the next few days, more information and initiatives regarding a comprehensive plan to facilitate the continued delivery of education to the nation’s youth will shared.

Individual schools will contact parents with reference to the instruction of their children.  Any queries or questions regarding any particular school can be communicated with the relevant school authorities.

Meantime, study packages have been prepared by teachers, and as such, parents and guardians should collect those from Monday 20th to Friday 25th April, 2020, between the hours of 8:00am to 12:00 noon, at the relevant schools. However, your child/ward’s school will inform via social media of the day and time to collect those packages.
