The SLHTA says the island’s most adorned athlete is “an absolute jewel” and “phenomenal daughter of the soil”.
Olympian and champion high jumper Levern Spencer arrives in St. Lucia this afternoon, the first time since winning GOLD at the Panam Games in Lima a few months ago.
Spencer, was recently inducted as an SLHTA Goodwill Ambassador when the Saint Lucia Hospitality & Tourism Association (SLHTA) held its 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 30th, 2019.
Spencer broke Saint Lucia’s national high jump record as a fourteen-year-old in 1998 while a student at Entrepot Secondary School.
The SLHTA Board of Directors made the decision to appoint Levern Spencer as Goodwill Ambassador based on her humility, dedication and persevering spirit.
She is the very first person to be granted that honor. Over the coming year, the SLHTA and Spencer will collaborate to raise funds for various charities and establish legacy projects aimed at the development of youth.
Levern returns to Saint Lucia on Monday October 21st, 2019 on the DELTA flight arriving at 2: 30 p.m. at the Hewanorra International Airport.
