A week of activities exploring the health and therapeutic benefits of Yoga began here yesterday, organised by Yoga St. Lucia with support from the Indian Embassy of Suriname.
Also involved is the Indian Cultural Foundation.
On Sunday a workshop was held at the East Winds Inn, conducted by Jill Hagar, Certified Iyengar Instructor and Certified International Yoga Therapist.
The workshop kicked off International Yoga Week, with proceeds going to the International Yoga Day Celebration on April 23rd at the Gros Islet Secondary School, starting from 8:00am.
There will be a Yoga event in Soufriere on June 18th; at the Spartan Medical University in Vieux-Fort on the 19th; and on Friday at Shangri La Estate at Bonne Terre is an event by Marise Skeete called the Art of Living. On the 22nd there will be Sunset Yoga Classes and Villa Wellness at Moule-a-Chique in Vieux Fort.
International Yoga Day June 23rd will be observed at the Gros Islet Secondary School and feature guests from Martinique, Kids Yoga, Meditation and a discussion on vegan food, cold pressed juices, Indian food and Kombuchi Juice.
